Painted NETZSCH
The curing of paints and adhesives was one of the No. 1 topics at the European Coatings Show which took place from May 8th through 10th, 2007 in Nuremberg. In cooperation with the NETZSCH Grinding & Dispersing Business Unit, NETZSCH Analyzing & Testing presented its latest innovations in hall 5 booth 221, including the Photo-DSC 204 F1 Phoenix® with automatic sample changer for UV curing, the new thermo-microbalance TG 209 F3 Tarsus with automatic sample changer especially designed for quality control and assurance, and a variety of sensors for DEA (dielectric analysis) which can also be employed for in-situ painting processes. On May 8th, 2007, during the Nuremberg Congress which took place parallel to the fair, NETZSCH applications specialist Stephan Knappe introduced the versatile application possibilities of Thermal Analysis for the curing of adhesives in his lecture entitled “Curing Behavior and Process Optimization of Reactive Adhesives by Thermoanalytical Techniques and Kinetic Analysis”. The users’ seminar for paint and adhesive techniques, which was held on May 9th, 2007, in the “Riga” room of the Nuremberg Exhibition Center, CCN East, was very well received by 27 participants from all over Germany. After Mr. Knappe’s presentation of the latest instrument technique, Jürgen Reitenspies of ReiColor in Altdorf discussed DSC measurements for thermally cured paints and the expedient application of the Thermokinetics software for process optimization. Finally, Dr. Jörg Naß of AACure in Homburg/Saar lectured about the correlations of DSC and DEA measurements using UV curing acrylate adhesives as an example. NETZSCH is looking forward to participating in the European Coatings Show again in 2009! |
