The TG 429 CD is equipped with a cooling thermostat to guarantee high long-term stability.

Various vacuum pumps, including turbomolecular pumps for both the balance chamber and for the tungsten furnace, enable measurements at reduced pressures, in high vacuum or in pure, oxygen-free atmospheres.

A variety of sample crucibles made of alumina, platinum, aluminum, graphite, tungsten, etc. is available in different sizes.

The water vapor furnace with perfectly balanced accessories for steam generation, gas mixing and flow control offers the unique opportunity to study the mass changes (and energy changes with the STA 429 CD) in samples up to 1250°C under defined absolute humidity.

Material research and characterization at the highest level is possible with the Skimmer coupling of the TG 429 CD (STA 429 CD) to the QMS 403/5 quadrupole mass spectrometer. Evolved gases are directed straight from the furnace to the mass spectrometer via an orifice and the Skimmer. This means that even volatile metallic vapors from sample decomposition can be detected and analyzed.

Knudsen cells made of diverse oxide ceramic materials are available for vapor pressure measurements in high vacuum (for TGA sample carriers).

Ferro-paramagnetic transitions can be detected via the mass change step at Curie temperature in the heating or cooling cycle using a magnet that is mounted on the furnace of the TG 429 CD (STA 429 CD).
