NETZSCH Advanced Software

NETZSCH Thermal Analysis, leading worldwide in thermal analysis technologies, offers with Advanced Software a series of integrated programs for the analysis of thermoanalytical data.

Thermokinetics
A comprehensive program for kinetic analysis of thermogravimetric (TGA), differential-scanning-calorimetric (DSC), rheometric, vulcametric and dynamic-mechanical analysis (DMA).

Component kinetics
The Program is a software module for kinetic evaluation of measurements with reactions in homogeneous mixtures. The total process is presented as the sum of elementary reactions. The software determines the pre-exponential factor and activation energy for each elementary reaction and makes the prediction and optimization of the reaction behaviour for any temperature conditions and for any initial concentration of reactants, including the presence of solvent.

ChemRheo®
On the basis of results from kinetic analysis of both DSC data and rheometric data, the temperature dependence and kinetics of viscosity is analyzed. The relation between degree of reaction and viscosity is described by various functions.

Thermal Simulations
A program for simulation of the thermal behavior under conditions of both heat generation and heat conductivity. A finite element solution for simple geometries such as infinite plate, infinite cylinder and sphere is offered. The temperature dependence of cp, density and heat conductivity is taken into account.

Peak Separation
This program allows the separation of overlapped peaks, using the profiles from the following peak types: Gaussian, Cauchy, Pseudo-Voigt (additive mixture of Gaussian and Cauchy), Fraser-Suzuki (asymmetric Gaussian), and Pearson.

Purity Determination
Determination of purity on the basis of the DSC-melting peak. The calculation is carried out without any simplification of Van't Hoff´s equation. The adjustment of thermal resistance on the basis of purity determination of a pure metal itself increases the reliability of values of high purity.

Density Determination
This program allows the determination of density of materials, which are melting at high temperatures on the basis of dilatometric measurements. For this reason the sample is positioned in a container (sapphire, graphite, quartz). Below the melting temperature the density is calculated on the assumption of an isotropic material. Above the melting temperature all influences of the container, of limited precision of sample preparation are taken into account.

DSC/DTA Corrections
This program allows the deconvolution of DSC and DTA curves regarding the time constant(s) and the thermal resistance. The time behavior of the system is described by a series of exponential functions. The real values are determined on the basis of the melting peak of a pure metal.
