Triple Seminar in the USA

“PROFESSIONAL POLYMER PROFILE” was our catchphrase for three Applications Seminars for Industry & Development in Baton Rouge, Houston South and Houston North. With more than 60 participants from the US and Canada, it was clear that interest in our polymer analysis lecture series is growing.

NETZSCH experts gave lectures at the seminars on thermal techniques for Thermal Characterization, Quality Control & Assurance, Failure Analysis Process Optimization, Cure Monitoring and Thermophysical Properties.

The seminar demonstrated the capabilities of these methods using real case applications from the fields of thermoplastics, resins, rubbers, and the like.

One of the instruments we had on display was our DSC 200 F3 Maia®.
DSC (Differential Scanning Calorimetry) is the number one thermo-analytical method for polymers; it is used to investigate thermal effects and derivational magnitudes for such properties as melting, crystallization, crosslinking, glass transition, specific heat, and oxidation.

The seminar participants were also introduced to our TG 209 F3 Tarsus.
TG (Thermogravimetry) provides information about the composition and thermal stability of polymer mixtures and blends.

They also had the opportunity to explore our new STA 449 F3 Jupiter®, which combines the advantages of a highly sensitive thermobalance and a true Differential Scanning Calorimeter. Various furnaces and TG-, TG-DTA- and TG-DSC-sensors can be used, thereby making the system easy to optimize for a great variety of applications.

Also presented was our DEA 230/1 Epsilon. With DEA (Dielectric Analysis), the curing behavior of reactive resin systems can be measured, even during processing.

Finally, our LFA 447 NanoFlash® was shown. Using LFA (Laser/Light Flash Analysis), the thermal diffusivity for thermoplastic melts can also be measured and the thermal conductivity can be determined.

Because of their technical, non-commercial content, our seminars have become very highly regarded.
