ACHEMA 2009: Gratifying Booth Visitor Turnout in Spite of Economic Crisis

The NETZSCH Analyzing & Testing Exhibition Team was pleased to find that the ACHEMA 2009, which took place in Frankfurt from May 11th - 15th, again turned out to be a positive show for us and worth our effort despite the current global economic crisis. The ample design of our corner booth in Hall 6.3 provided an ideal environment for carrying out grounded high-level technical application discussions on a variety of topics in the fields of chemistry, pharmaceuticals and polymer technology.

Our highlight at the show was our new adiabatic calorimeter. It combines the large-design performance capabilities of an adiabatic reaction calorimeter (Accelerating Rate Calorimeter and Automatic Pressure Tracking Adiabatic Calorimeter) with the advantages of a speedy Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSC) for small sample sizes.

A half-day seminar relating to process stability and upscaling was held for specialists in the fields of chemical and pharmaceutical safety engineering. Two half-day users’ seminars with guest lectures on the topics of polymer technology, organic chemistry, pharmaceuticals and dental technology received “good to excellent” reviews by the over 30 participants.

At the booth, some of our special Thermal Analysis instrumentation was presented live: the unrivaled Simultaneous Thermal Analysis instrument STA 449 F1 Jupiter with Automatic Sample Changer (ASC) coupled to the Mass Spectrometer QMS 403 C Aeolos for gas analysis, the versatile Photo-DSC 204 F1 Phoenix with ASC, the cost-effective Thermo-Microbalance TG 209 F3 Tarsus with ASC, and the Light Flash Apparatus LFA 447 NanoFlash for the determination of thermal conductivity.
