The NETZSCH Proteus® software runs under the Windows® user interface (Windows® 7, 32-/64-bit, Professional, Enterprise and Ultimate; Windows® 8.1 Pro and Enterprise; Windows® 10 Pro and Enterprise) and includes, even in its basic version, all of the functions necessary for carrying out and evaluating measurements. User-friendly menus combined with automated routines make this software very easy to use while still providing sophisticated analysis.

The NETZSCH Proteus® software is licensed with the corresponding instrument’s computer, but can also be installed on additional analysis computers. For in-depth measurement and evaluation methods such as for purity or Density Determination, a variety of additional software packages – some of which are instrument-specific – are optionally available.

Universal Measurement Methods

Proteus® software uses across-the-board measurement methods which can be employed on different instruments of the same type (e.g., on any DSC instrument). This enables users ‒ with the appropriate instrument configuration ‒ to carry out measurements with multiple instruments under exactly the same conditions. If needed, the curve evaluation can even be integrated into the respective measurement method so that the evaluated curve is automatically available immediately after completion of the experiment.

Huge KIMW database to identify unknown polymers using DSC

In cooperation with the Kunststoff-Institut Lüdenscheid, NETZSCH-Gerätebau offers a polymer data-base for DSC analysis.

  • 600 data sets for different material samples
  • 130 different polymer types and blends
  • Automated identification of polymer samples

Each material is labelled with the appropriate trade name. Information about the colors and fillers is also available.

Additionally, updates and expansions of the database are offered on a regular basis.

The integration of the extensive database of the Kunststoff-Institut Lüdenscheid into the software Identify for the identification of curves makes polymer applications considerably easier for the DSC user.

Together with the automatic, user-independent evaluation of the DSC measurements by means of AutoEvaluation, a faster assignment and a more meaningful interpretation of the measurement results is possible.
