Workshop Focus on TGA and STA

Thermal Analysis is a group of methods in which the thermophysical properties of a substance or a mixture are measured as a function of temperature or time while the substance is subjected to a controlled temperature program. Exact thermal data is the basic requirement for material syntheses, for describing a material’s behaviour, for exact material selection. Thermogravimetry (TGA) is a Thermal Analysis technique in which the mass of the sample is monitored as a function of tempera-ture or time, while the sample is subjected to a controlled temperature program. The program typically involves heating, cooling or isothermal steps. Simultaneous Thermal Analysis generally refers to the simultaneous application of Thermogravimetry (TGA) and Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) to one and the same sample in a single instrument.
