How to prevent fire fighting with fire testing systems

Wednesday, February 10, 2021 | 10:00 am & 05:00 pm (CET)

For preventive fire protection, the appropriate choice of materials and components is essential in order to prevent fires altogether or prevent them from spreading.
Fire-testing products have been increasing in importance in recent times. It is essential that products and materials are as flame-resistant as possible for reasons of safety and regulations. It is also important that a product generates as little smoke as possible in the event that it does ignite; this can help save lives.

In this webinar our specialist Robert Russow presents fire testing instruments in accordance with German, European and international standards used to classify the burning behavior of materials for the construction, textile, automobile and electrical industries. This includes techniques for testing ignitability, burning behavior and flame spread of a wide application range.

How to determine the stationary heat transfer properties of components and products used in construction

Wednesday, February 17, 2021 | 10:00 am & 05:00 pm (CET)

HotBox instruments are used for determining the stationary heat transfer properties of complex components and finished products used in construction such as doors, windows and brickwork. In a  HotBox test chamber, it is possible to simulate real-world conditions as they would exist for a building wall, by simulating conditions both inside the building and on the outside of the wall.

In this webinar, our specialist Holger Ackermann gives insight into the constructively complex test apparatus for determining the U-value for all parts of the building envelope, such as brick walls, facades, windows and doors. He presents devices to determine both the Thermal Resistance R with a Heat Flow Meter and the Thermal Transmittance U with a HotBox apparatus.

How to measure the thermal conductivity for insulation, construction and building materials

Wednesday, February 24, 2021 | 10:00 am & 05:00 pm (CET)

Protecting the environment, preserving our natural resources and conserving energy have become more and more important. The use of insulation and building materials with a low thermal conductivity value substantially contributes to achieving these goals. NETZSCH TAURUS Instruments GmbH primarily focuses on devices for measuring the thermal conductivity of building, construction and insulating materials.

In this webinar, our specialist Holger Ackermann presents devices with guarded hot plate (GHP) in accordance with ISO 8302 and devices with guarded hot pipe in accordance with DIN EN ISO 8497. You will learn about the different techniques, its advantages and applications.
