The 3in1 Box comes exclusively with the new Concavus®® pan by NETZSCH. It offers comprehensive protection during transport and storage, allows for easy withdrawal and features a unique archiving system for the pans following measurement.
Until now, the preparation of sample pans for DSC had been rather cumbersome. Pans and lids had only been available packaged in bulk form in plastic containers. The plastic packaging containing the Al pans would become statically charged and adhere to one another, sometimes becoming very difficult to separate. Such static charge can also provide a favorable environment for contamination of the sample pan. Additionally, if the packaging lid was closed carelessly, the crucibles and lids might become deformed and thus rendered useless.
A unique approach in the packaging of sample pans now allows for a more efficient process during sample preparation. The new 3in1 Box contains 96 crucibles or lids, neatly sorted in an anti-static plastic box. This pre-sorted arrangement and the anti-static material allows for individual pans and lids to be easily withdrawn from the box. An added feature is the “Sample Identification Card” included in the box which allows for the documentation of samples and measurement results. The compact 3in1 Box is thus an easy-to-handle storage unit for pans and lids with additional benefits in both transport and archiving.
|Important Factors for Selection of Suitable DSC, TGA and STA Crucibles (Pans) for Your Sample|
|A DSC crucible (pan) should be made of a material with a high thermal conductivity. This guarantees optimum heat transfer and low temperature gradients between the sample, crucible (pan) and sensor.|
|The crucible (pan) should be made of an inert material in order to prevent reactions with the sample in the programmed temperature range. Exceptions are crucibles (pans) for which a catalytic effect on the sample is desired (e.g., copper crucible for OIT tests, etc.).|
|The crucible (pan) should not exhibit any phase transitions or other effects in the programmed temperature range; the melting point or fusion temperature must exceed the maximum application temperature to a sufficient degree.|

Various cooling systems can be applied to cool the furnace, either back to room temperature via compressed air or down to -170°C by using liquid nitrogen cooling. The cost-efficient intracoolers offer an alternative to liquid nitrogen cooling and make it possible to run measurements between -40 to 600°C (IC40) or -70°C to 600°C (IC70).
