Simultaneous dynamic-mechanical and dielectric analysis using the device DiPLEXOR® 500 N opens up new horizons of knowledge about technical elastomers under mechanical load. This information reproduce authentic situations from operation modes and improves our understanding of the molecular interaction between the different components during application. Correct selection of the mechanical measurement settings reproduces real mechanical load conditions. The simultaneous dielectric spectroscopy offers additionally the possibility to characterize the inner structure dynamics and thus to draw conclusions about the aging, wear and mechanical fatigue behaviour of the installed elastomers. The webinar series covers different aspects of the simultaneous dynamic-mechanical and dielectric analysis of technical elastomers and consists of two parts.
In the first part, the fundamentals of the simultaneous dynamic-mechanical and dielectric analysis and the technical design of DiPLEXOR® 500 N are presented. The mechanisms involved in dielectric response of technical elastomers are also discussed. In the second part, the relationship between mechanical fatigue and the dielectric performance indicators of the technical elastomers will be analyzed. The influence of temperature, load type and load amplitude will be considered.
